Free a Dalit Child is the new name for our unique and developing Education Sponsorship initiative for India’s Dalit children.

Today around 24,000 children attend over 100 schools (Dalit Educations Centres or DECs) scattered around India. Almost 3000 of these children are supported by UK sponsors

The continued success of this life changing approach enrols around 3,000 new children each year in existing and new schools. We hope the new Free a Dalit Child name will capture people’s imagination as we seek to increase the number of UK sponsors.

As well as providing high quality English based education for the children, these schools are a catalyst for Dalit Community transformation through programmes in economic development, healthcare and social justice.
